Eva Borries and Semira Soraya Kandan met as mentee and mentor in the women’s mentoring project of the University of Landau. Right from the beginning they shared their views on common themes around digital transformation and media skills and started an enduring exchange. Since the end of the mentoring program, Eva complements our consultants group as a learning advisor with a focus on media literacy as well as with her research expertise on empirical social research and media usage.
Eva specializes in digital media and it’s role in the work and private lives of people from all walks of life. She can draw on both her scientific understanding of media and media influence as well as her experiences as a consultant for educational institutions, government agencies and EU initiatives.
Her core competencies are advising on or development of media educational concepts and corresponding rates for audiences of all ages. Her work focuses on the holistic counseling of all target groups, particularly the consulting of educational institutions, as well as the development of new methods, concepts, materials, and training. She offers training and lectures at conferences throughout Germany.
Already in study, she began freelancing to work as a consultant and trainer and, since then, collaborates with national and EU initiatives, such as the State Pedagogical Institute, the State Media Center of Baden-Wuerttemberg, and the State Data Protection Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. She now has a Germany-wide network. She is also an author and wrote, among others, regularly for a media education blog.
For two years, Eva Borries is research associate at the Centre for Educational Research (Zepf) of the University of Koblenz-Landau, Campus Landau and works in a nationwide scale educational research project, mainly in the area of project management. Incidentally, she has worked as a trainer and consultant for media literacy with audiences of all ages on “media literacy in the digital media” for more than five years. The focus of their work is related to learning and digital media alike.
