Information about the newsletter and consent*

(*This is our translation of a legal text by Dr. Schwenke. Only the original German text is legally binding.)

With the following information, we will inform about the contents of our newsletter as well as the registration, dispatch and statistical evaluation procedure as well as your right of objection. By subscribing to our newsletter, you agree to the receipt and the procedures described below.

Content of the newsletter

We send newsletters, e-mails and other electronic notifications with promotional information (hereinafter “Newsletter”) only with the consent of the recipient or a legal permission. It offers you current information on how dialogue, diversity, and digital change leadership and organization. It also keeps you up to date on our events and services.

Double opt-in and logging

The registration for our newsletter uses a so-called double opt-in procedure. That means, you will receive an e-mail after registration, in which you will be asked to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary so that no one can log on with foreign e-mail addresses.

The registrations for the newsletter are recorded in order to be able to prove the registration process according to the legal requirements. This includes the storage of the login and the confirmation time, as well as the IP address. The changes to your data stored with MailChimp are also logged.

Use of the mail service provider “MailChimp”

The newsletters are sent by means of “MailChimp”, a newsletter platform of the US supplier Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE # 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.

The e-mail addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as their further data described in the course of these notes, are stored on the servers of MailChimp in the USA. MailChimp uses this information to send and evaluate the newsletters on our behalf. In addition, MailChimp can use its own information to optimize or improve its own services, e.g. for the technical optimization of the dispatch and the presentation of the newsletters or for economic purposes in order to determine from which countries the recipients come. However, MailChimp does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write it down or pass it on to third parties.

We trust in the reliability and IT and data security of MailChimp. MailChimp is certified under the EU Privacy Shield “Privacy Shield” and is committed to comply with EU data protection requirements. We also concluded a “Data Processing Agreement” with MailChimp. This is a contract in which MailChimp commits itself to protect the data of our users, according to its data protection regulations on our behalf to process and in particular not to pass on to third parties. You can see the privacy policy of MailChimp here.

Application data

To register for the newsletter we ask you for your gender, pre- and family name and your email. This information is for the personalization of the newsletter only. We also ask you to specify your date of birth, gender and industry. We use this information only to adapt the content of the newsletter to the interests of our readers.)

Statistical survey and analysis

The newsletters contain a so-called “web-beacon”, a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the MailChimp server when the newsletter is opened. Within the framework of this call up, technical information, such as information on the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and time of the retrieval, are collected. This information is used to technically improve the services on the basis of the technical data or the target groups and their reading behavior by means of their retrieval locations (which can be determined using the IP address) or the access times.

Statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened, and which links are clicked. This information can be assigned to individual newsletter recipients for technical reasons. It is, however, neither our aim, nor that of MailChimp, to observe individual users. The evaluations serve us much more to recognize the reading habits of our users and adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.

Online call up and data management

There are cases where we direct the newsletter recipients to the websites of MailChimp. E.g. our newsletter contains a link with which the newsletter recipients can access the newsletters online (for example in the case of display problems in the e-mail program). Further, newsletters may receive their data, e.g. correct the e-mail address.

In this context, we pointed out that on the websites of MailChimp, cookies are used and thus personal data are processed by MailChimp, its partners and used service providers (for example, Google Analytics). We have no influence on this data collection. For further information, please refer to the privacy policy of MailChimp. We would also like to point out the contradictory possibilities in the data collection for advertising purposes on the websites http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/ (for the European area).

Cancellation / Revocation

You can cancel the receipt of our newsletter at any time and revoke your consent. At the same time, your consents to the sending via MailChimp and the statistical analyzes go out at the same time. A separate cancellation of the dispatch via MailChimp or the statistical evaluation is unfortunately not possible.

You will find a link to unsubscribe the newsletters at the end of each newsletter.

For legal reasons our privacy policy is currently only available in German. Please refer to the German version of this site for details.
