Neil Urquhart worked with Semira as a co-trainer in the European Union Institutions from 2004-2007, facilitating large international newcomer groups on the themes of integrating in a multicultural environment and onboarding. He has reconnected with Semira in the fields of leadership development, international negotiations, and intercultural and diversity competences, particularly on the topic of unconscious bias in the workplace.
As an expert in communication skills, Neil blends his experience of training, facilitating, and coaching in multinational firms with his experience in education and the voluntary sector to create a strong results-focused offering. He enables groups, teams, and individuals at all levels of responsibility to work together more effectively in international contexts.
Neil’s core competence is facilitating change in international organizations and individuals in transition. He works with senior managers in FTSE 100 businesses on managing team performance and how to counteract unconscious bias in organisations. Smaller scale interventions include specialised seminars on negotiation skills for women, career development and interview coaching for executives.
Neil studied Politics at the University of Hull and worked as an English teacher in Japan as well as an administrator in an international educational institute in Scotland. After his career in the education sector, he worked for four years in a management consultancy and communication skills training company in Germany, France, and Austria. In late 2004, he returned to the UK and became a self-employed consultant and trainer.
Amongst other licenses and qualifications, Neil has a Personal Performance Coaching Certificate from the Coaching Academy, one of Europe’s leading coaching organisations and is a Master Facilitator in Voice Dialogue, a psychotherapeutic technique which he uses as coaching tool.
Neil is now based in London whilst continuing his international work in Europe and Africa.
