Semira Soraya-Kandan
Geboren wurde ich als Tochter einer deutschen Mutter und eines iranischen Vaters im Iran, aufgewachsen bin ich im Saarland. Mein internationales Abitur (IB) machte ich auf einem United World College in Großbritannien mit Schülern aus über sechzig Nationen. Im Anschluss studierte ich Diplom-Psychologie, Sprechwissenschaft (bei Hellmut Geißner), Soziologie und Philosophie in Deutschland und den USA. Seit 1991 arbeite ich als Trainerin, referiere auf internationalen Fachkongressen und publiziere regelmäßig zu interkultureller Organisationskommunikation, qualitativer Kommunikationsforschung und Kommunikationspädagogik. Seit meinem Studienabschluss 1994 entwickle und coache ich Führungskräfte und berate zunehmend Organisationen. Meine eigene Beratungsfirma gründete ich 1997 in Mannheim.
Seit vielen Jahren kooperiere ich mit dem Hernstein Institut (Wien), der osb-i (Berlin) sowie ausgewählten Partnern aus meinem internationalen Netzwerk. Zu meinen Qualifikationen zählt die Beraterfortbildung Beratung im Wandel am Management Zentrum Witten mit Dirk Baecker, Fritz Simon und Rudi Wimmer.
Meine Spezialthemen sind:
- Dialogische Rhetorik und Führungskommunikation
- Interkulturelle Kompetenzentwicklung von Führungskräften und Organisationen
- Virtuelle Teams bzw. Kooperationen und Führen verteilter Teams
Kennzeichnend für meine Arbeitsweise ist die Integration von Businessanforderungen, sozialen Kompetenzen und kultureller Vielfalt in den Spannungsfeldern von Personen und Organisationen.
I was born to a German mother and an Iranian father in Iran and grew up in the Saarland. I took an International Baccalaureate (IB) at a United World College in the UK with students from more than sixty nations. Afterwards, I studied psychology, speech communication (with Hellmut Geissner), sociology and philosophy in Germany and in the USA.
I have been working as a trainer since 1991. I regularly speak at international conferences and publish on intercultural organizational communication, qualitative communication research and communication education. When I completed my studies in 1994, I started to coach managers and also began to increasingly consult organizations. I founded my own consulting company in Mannheim in 1997.
For many years I have cooperated with the Hernstein Institut (Vienna), the osb-i (Berlin) as well as with other selected partners from my international network.
Among my qualifications is the systemic consulting curriculum Consulting in Transformation with Dirk Baecker, Fritz Simon und Rudi Wimmer at the Management Zentrum Witten.
My core topics are:

- intercultural competencies for leaders and organizations
- virtual teams resp. cooperations and managing remote teams
Characteristic for my approach is the integration of business needs, social competencies and cultural diversity between the often conflicting priorities of people and organizations.
